How to Find the IP of cPanel/WHM Server


This tutorial is designed to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with cPanel license errors. Find the IP address on a cPanel VPS or dedicated server with cPanel, which is giving a license issue.

cPanel License Error

cPanel Error - Cannot Read License File

If you come across this screen, while attempting to access your cPanel server over the web interface, you may have the incorrect server IP licensed.

To determine the correct IP for your cPanel license, SSH the server and run the following command as the root user:

curl -L http://cpanel.net/showip.cgi

Your server will return the IP address which is causing the license error.
