How to Approve a Domain Transfer Away from Name.com

This article provides a guide for how to approve a domain transfer away from Name.com.

How to Approve a Domain Transfer Away from Name.com

Once submitted, a transfer can take about 5-7 days to complete. You can expedite the transfer so the domain name transfers within a matter of hours instead of days by following these steps. For domains transferring into Name.com, you can check the status of your transfer in your account to make sure it isn’t stuck and then ask your registrar to push the transfer.

Expedite Outgoing Transfers

If you are transferring your domain name away from Name.com, we can approve the transfer for you so it completes after a few hours rather than several days.

We can only expedite the transfer after the transfer has started. Once the transfer has been submitted, you will see Your Domain is Pending Transfer on the domain management page in your account:

If you meet certain requirements, the “transfer now” button will appear, and you can click it to expedite the transfer. If the button does not appear, please follow the steps below.

Transfer Domain from Name.com

Please fill out the support form while logged into your account and request that we approve the transfer.

If you do not contact them, the transfer will finish on its own and may take the full 5-7 days to complete.

Note: It can take a few hours after we approve the transfer for the domain name(s) to appear in the account of the new registrar.

After your domain has completed transfer, you may still see it in your Name.com account! This does not mean the domain has not transferred. Please click on the domain name, and it will show you if the domain has transferred away or not. This is a ghost image of your domain-- left so you can check the status on that transfer. It will fall off of your domain list automatically within a few days.
