We are happy to announce that all cPanel Hosting servers have been successfully updated to Version 64. This version brings significant improvements to many administrative tasks and provides added features and performance efficiencies. Additionally, if you have had the opportunity to login to your server, you will notice some changes in the Graphical User Interface, such as contemporary/modern Icons and some changes to the vocabulary.

We will briefly discuss a few of the most significant changes and will prepare additional knowledgebase documentation, as dictated by support requests.

SSL Status Page

All users will now have access to the SSL Status Page in cPanel (Home >> SSL/TLS >> SSL Status). The SSL Status Page provides information regarding the validity and expiration dates of SSL certificates assigned to your domains. All Shared Hosting, WordPress Hosting, and Reseller Hosting services now include Free SSL certificates and the SSL Status Page is where users will find up-to-the-minute information regarding their domains.

Email Disk Usage

This feature provides a highly-functional interface in cPanel for managing email storage. The Email Disk Usage feature offers per-address and per-folder custom rules for removing unwanted emails and managing account disk storage. This tool adds an efficient method of locating and removing unnecessary email files.

Dovecot Improvements

Even users who do not use Microsoft Office or other IMAP email clients will benefit from this as email connections can significantly impact available server resources, especially during peak hours. With the improvements to Dovecot's connection to web and mobile device clients, the overall performance of the servers would stabilize and have additional free resources for tasks it would not normally have. Additionally, the manner by which Dovecot searches and indexes files has seen a major overhaul, which will further benefit the server environment and all users.

DMARC Records

In cPanel & WHM version 64, you can configure Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance (DMARC) records for your domains in cPanel’s Zone Editor interface (Home >> Domains >> Zone Editor). The system uses DMARC records together with SPF or DKIM records to more easily determine whether an email message originated from the sender. DMARC records also allow you to more easily filter spam and phishing messages. For more information about the DMARC protocol, read dmarc.org’s Overview documentation.

While we have been running development environments on this upgrade for months, there is always the possibility that such a significant upgrade to the server's software could negatively impact some users.
